It breaks our hearts when we see how carelessly our sport is presented in sports stores or discounters. A table tennis bat for ten euros? Is that like trying to climb the Swiss Alps on a three-speed bike? Table tennis is much more fun with the right material! If you suddenly play a ball with so much spin that your opponent can't receive the ball, or your topspin has so much rotation that it can't be returned - then you realize what a difference the material can make.

Founding story
For over 20 years now, spinfactory.de has had a firm place in the table tennis competition world. The two founders Jan and Jörn met through their shared hobby, but also through their studies together at the German Sport University - and started their business together from a rented garage. From our adopted home by the cathedral and the Rhine, we have developed over the past few years into one of the leading specialist and online retailers in competitive table tennis in Europe. We have good and personal contacts with almost all brands and manufacturers - not just in Germany, but worldwide.
With ping-meets-pong.com we are now bringing our table tennis expertise into the recreational table tennis world and want you to benefit from our know-how and our love for the sport.
Our team
We love and live table tennis! You don't have to play table tennis yourself to sell table tennis products. But it makes a big difference if you have been swinging a racket since childhood, have stood at the table for thousands of hours and have table tennis in your blood. Co-Founder & Managing Director
Jörn is the head of IT. He ensures that our shops run smoothly and finds a solution to any problems. With a history of over 40 years in table tennis, he can draw on the greatest wealth of experience as a player and material expert. When he's not at the table tennis table himself, he also enjoys skiing in the winter.
Jan Matthes
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Jan is our communicator and all-rounder. In table tennis he has been almost everything you can be: a high-class player and coach, retailer and brand founder - and now the father of two table tennis-loving sons. Above all, Jan follows new developments and trends that give table tennis a modern look - and since then he has been at the table outdoors more and more often. He gets balance from one sport with another: In the summer, Jan pedals hard on his racing bike.
Janos Pigerl
Ecommerce Shop Manager
Janos ensures that everything runs smoothly in our online shop and that your package arrives at your home as quickly as possible. He is a passionate table tennis player and uses his free time at work to train diligently. He also plays tennis extensively in the summer. And one sentence applies to him like none of us: a life without sport is unimaginable for him.
Benjamin Raquepo
Store manager
Benjamin, or everyone just calls him Benny, runs our local table tennis store in Cologne. He advises our customers extensively and always finds the right material and the right words in the advice. Due to his high level of material expertise, he is also significantly involved in the development of our customized table tennis bats. Benny is still studying marketing alongside his work and supports us with our social media presence.
